Stepping into this St Albans steel shed, the first thing you notice is the continuous, light grey flake epoxy floor running from roller door to back wall. The building was originally poured as a bare concrete slab inside a new steel structure, intended to be used as a combined storage area and workshop. The owner wanted a floor that looked clean and professional, reduced dust from the concrete, and could handle vehicles, tools and general storage without constant maintenance.

Highend Epoxy Flooring prepared the slab with dust‑controlled grinding to remove laitance and open the surface for maximum adhesion. Once the concrete was fully profiled, we repaired small imperfections and applied a high‑solids epoxy primer from a trusted commercial supplier. Over this, our in‑house installers laid a tinted basecoat and broadcast a dense blend of light and dark flakes to full coverage, creating the classic “granite” look you can see in the photo. A UV‑stable clear topcoat sealed the system and added a subtle texture for grip while still allowing easy sweeping and mopping.

The finished floor completely changes the feel of the shed. Light from the open roller door and windows reflects off the surface, making the long interior brighter and more inviting.
